Japan is famous for it’s packaging culture: things are wrapped and packed, traditionally in many layers. This is where the “origami” (art of paper folding) comes in, too. Traditionally, paper and cloth were used to pack and wrap things – now, plastics dominate the material. However, one thing has not changed: the pursuit of perfection.
A perfect example for this is “Pattruss”, a packaging that comes in a tetrahedral shape. Pattruss is not only strong in terms of protection of the content, but also easy to open and environmentally friendly, since it serves as pouch and afteropening as a (boat-shape) tray. The concept is so convincing that it has won numerous awards, among them the “Good Design Award”, the “Japan Packaging Contest”, and others.
Don’s miss the chance to get to know the award-winning packaging at the “Japan Technology Forum” on May 9, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. The event will offer simultaneous English interpretation, and English printed material will be available before the forum. Participation is free, but we humbly ask you to register at http://bitly.com/JP-Tech. We look forward to seeing you!
