GAP MULTILAYER BARRIER FILM DOUBLE BUBBLE LINE with annealing

Simultaneous orientation

In the world of flexible packaging, the fresh food packaging field (sausages, meet, cheese, fish, raw pasta and others) continues to be in high demand. The market for these packaging products has had an important year growth rate . The growth is due to the increased consumer demand for a wide variety of packaging materials and applications. The market can be divided into the following main fields: lid barrier film , shrink barrier film and shrink bags.

Through a coextrusion process (comparable with the Double Bubble Technology) with a configuration designed up to 11 -layers , it is possible to produce a tube with a layflat width between 50 and 800 mm, finished product thickness from 25 to 100 microns and a film up to 2.000 mm , that can be directly used in the fast automatic wrapping machine which operates with modify atmosphere, shrink and vacuum, simultaneously.

The greater share of extrusion and biaxial orientation lines, manufactured and sold by GAP, are mostly designed for the production of multilayer heat-shrinkable films by the technique which is generally known as Double-Bubble process or simultaneous bubble orientation.

An important contribution is the new PILOT multilayer double bubble and annealing process that GAP has in operation in his factory . This high tech line will be a PILOT plant to develop new multilayer oriented barrier film structure for the production of barrier bags, Barrier shrink film and lid film. The new high tech center recive the attention of many producers of barrier materials and provide important improvement to the process and technology .

The Double-Bubble Technology is a typical co-extrusion process (using extruders and die), where the polymer, once leaving the die, is immediately water quenched to form a primary tube which is then conveyed up to the top of the orientation tower, then it descends through a series of infrared heated ovens that raise the temperature of the primary tube until its temperature reaches the orientation level. The primary tube is stretched simultaneously in both directions under the combined effect of the internal air pressure and the speed differential between the upper and lower stretch nip.

GAP experience also in the extrusion coating, a dedicated technique , where many different material are laminated by extrusion by PE , Coex melt material ect

Multistage extrusion coating and laminating unit for the production of multilayered material used for liquid packaging.

GAP is possessing, under one roof, both extrusion as well as web converting capabilities thus worth to be considered a reliable partner for coating or lamination project .

Lamination though extrusion have high technological features due to the requirement of preserving the product with the best organolectic characteristics, with no damages.

The materials used for these packages are obtained by combining webs of different materials through an extrusion or co-extrusion/laminating process.

Among many different application, a typical example of application of extrusion/laminating process is the production of laminates for long shelf life preservation of liquid foods.

This product consists typically of different layers combined together. It is produced by multy station coating machine, GAP maintains an extensive research and development on new machine design and dedicated technology with the simultaneous support of a team of specialists .
