Lengerich/Germany based machinery manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher attains the position of a full-range provider in FFS bagging technology! This is news! While having played in the premier league of FFS bagging technology already for some time past, Windmöller & Hölscher had to rely on appropriately powerful partners for the downstream equipment. This situation is now a thing of the past. Having added the PLATINUM layer palletizer as well as the ARGON stretch hood machine to its FFS product line, Windmöller & Hölscher is now in a position to offer the technology for the complete process chain, from the silo discharge point to the ready-to-ship pallet. The benefit to customers with future investments: They are dealing with only one project partner, who takes the complete undivided responsibility for the project. And there is another important advantage: The palletizer output of up to 2,800 sacks per hour, which matches the production capacity of the high-speed TOPAS SL brought to the market last year, takes Windmöller & Hölscher to a top position as regards productivity development. The new line will be on show and demonstrated on May 8 and 9 as well as 12 and 13 at the W&H in-house EXPO at Lengerich headquarters. Free round-tour transportation between Düsseldorf and Lengerich will be provided.
Every journey begins with the first step. For many bulk goods, such as chemical or petrochemical products, fertilizers, salts, sugar, filter sands, wood pellets, decorative gravel, this first step is the FFS bagging process. For more than forty years, the industry dealing with the said product spectrum has made use of this technology and profited by its economic and functional advantages in the distribution of goods. FFS earns top scores in regard to product protection, logistics and presentation. Windmöller & Hölscher has accompanied this development from the outset with high performance bagging equipment and consistently pioneered a lot of advancements in terms of technology and bagging output.
As far as downward handling of the packaged products was concerned, they had to rely on powerful partners. Layer palletizers and load securing systems had to be procured from the appropriate external sources or were purchased within the framework of consortium agreements, a procedure bound to result in technically heterogeneous equipment as well as split responsibility, as far as order processing, machine performance and service were concerned.
With the newly developed layer palletizer PLATINUM and the downstream stretch hood wrapper ARGON, Windmöller und Hölscher has successfully filled the gap and supplemented its range of high-output FFS bagging lines DIAMANT and TOPAS with fully integrated downstream equipment to guarantee that the product will be brought to the customer or user quickly, securely, and in a logistically efficient manner.
A common operating concept of both the bagging line and the palletizer as well as a uniform design of the technical equipment, avoiding any need to adapt to components from third-party suppliers, simplifies internal operating processes at the packaging plant notably, including everything from operator training, running the bagging line to maintenance and spare parts logistics.
The modularly designed PLATINUM palletizer is available for three different output levels and with many design variations. This allows for perfect adaptation to specific bagging situations and requirements. Capable of palletizing up to 2,800 sacks per hour, it sets a new benchmark in the bag palletizing sector. It differentiates itself from other layer palletizers in that the high output is achieved without compromising the size range of the bagging machine.
The stretch hood machine is supplied by Lachenmeier, a leading manufacturer of load securing systems, and is fully integrated into the W&H packing line. It is, therefore, part of W&H's overall responsibility for the complete line. One of the key advantages of the ARGON stretch hood machine is the special stretch technology, which covers a broad range of film thicknesses and displays its strengths especially with thin films. Excessive stretch of the hood film is avoided, as are thin gauge areas during vertical stretching. The result is a perfectly stacked and secured pallet unit as well as optimized costs and minimum material use.
Customers looking for less powerful machines, will also get the right equipment from W&H, i.e. cost-optimized solutions such as articulated arm robots and stretch wrap systems for load securing.
Lengerich/Germany based Windmöller & Hölscher is an internationally leading manufacturer of flexible packaging machinery and equipment. The product line encompasses blown and cast film equipment, flexographic and gravure printing presses, machines for surface finishing and processing of paper, films, and woven plastic fabrics, as well as FFS (Form-Fill-Seal) packaging systems.
